Round the Bend Tour 2007 - 3,500 miles in 7 days around the UK's coast for MS charities
Now planning the '08 run

What's new?
I've been busy using Volvanimal and there's evidence on youtube here and here. The inside has been insulated and panelled and it is running very well.I've made a 19" drop plate to tow a caravan, made a conversion fly-lead from NATO 12 pin to UK 7 pin electrics and had the axles rebuilt with new bearings.  It has also appeared in a local band, Make Model's video.

I now run a 4x4 parts/supplies business called www.Difflock.com so please drop in and take a look.

The Volvo C-series off road vehicles are gaining a dedicated following in the UK because of their immense capability, comfort, practicality and relatively low price compared to Landrover 101FCs and Pinzgauers.  As a driving experience they are smooth, relatively civilised and great fun and make excellent go-anywhere campers and work trucks.  Parts availability  is good through Volvo Truck and Bus, however it can be cheaper to look for second hand parts from people like me or through the C3-series club which will be able to keep everyone in touch.

My TGB13 (C304 military) is a slightly tatty example that gets heavily abused off road and is in a constant process of being 'adapted' for proper off-roading.  Keep up with developments here. Mechanically they are ultra reliable but have a few foibles.  There is a dedicated following worldwide and several sites are a font of information. These sites can be found on the links page.  There are also links to suppliers I've used and can recommend

Club TGB

The aims of the club are to promote the preservation, maintenance and general enjoyment of the Volvo C3 series vehicles and their variants. Included in this are those vehicles that have been retro-fitted with Volvo portal axles.

There is no membership fee, and membership is merely another excuse to try and get cheaper insurance!

Someone has suggested a new name Club C303PO - a bit droidy for my taste! Hmmmm, a Volvo TGB to off road you drive?

The Club page is here

Feel free to email me and I can get back to you with phone numbers and how to come and have a drive.  I am based in Glasgow, Scotland.
